Accelerated level is a competitive program that focuses performance AND training to create a well rounded dancer. This level is an option for dancers with previous experience who's families that are looking for more opportunities for their dancer, and to take training to the next level. There is a strong sense of team, and commitment that goes along with the Accelerated program.
Dancers in the Accelerated program participate in a minimum of two classes per week and participate in at least Ballet and Jazz classes that attend two festivals (or three festivals for older dancers). Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Modern, and Contemporary options are available to dancers once they've developed a secure technical base, and develop the maturity needed for the nuances of these genres.
Exams are available, and are encouraged because they provide dancers with attainable goals set against worldwide standards. Dancers generally work harder in exam preparation and progress further with their technical capabilities. Having a strong technical base promotes safe dance practice, and when performing at more advanced levels, can lessen the chance of injury. Strong dance technique increases general aesthetic as well as fluidity and control of movement- areas that can make a difference while being adjudicated at festivals and competition.
